  • We believe each student is unique and has special abilities, talents, and interests that must be recognized and nurtured
  • We believe individual students possess within them the power to control quality, growth, and satisfaction in their lives.

  • We believe that given proper support, all students can achieve at high levels in a developmentally appropriate manner according to their strengths.

  • We believe that building relationships is the key to being a successful student advocate, guide, and liaison between all members of the school community.

  • We believe that counselors need to be available to all students to discuss academic, social and personal matters.

  • We believe all students must be prepared to function as globally competitive citizens in a rapidly changing society.

  • We believe a successful program requires the support and participation of all school personnel, parents, guardians, outside agencies, and the community at large.

Program Goals

1 – Attendance: Student attendance will improve to 94% in order to meet MSDE standards.

2 – Behavior: Student behavior will improve overall through fewer suspensions and more time in class.

3 – College Career Readiness:  Students will have greater high school and post-secondary options through goal setting and decision making.

We believe that counseling programs need to be shaped by ethical guidelines and meaningful data.
