 Language! Students

 

Directions:

  1. Select a novel from the list.

  2. After reading the novel, answer the questions below on loose leaf paper (or type your responses).

  3. You can turn in your work in September, or anytime before then to your Language Arts teacher.

 Questions:

1.      Write down 5 words that were new to you from this novel.  Under each word, list the following:

·        Attributes of the word (characteristics)

·        Synonyms and antonyms

2.      How did characters speak in the novel?  Was anything about their language unique? Were there fantasy words?  Did they use slang?  Have an accent?  Was anything confusing to you about the way characters spoke?  Explain.

 

3.      Find one short sentence in the novel.  Re-write it and label the subject and the predicate.

 

4.      What was your favorite part of the story?  Summarize it, and explain why it was your favorite part.
