WDMS Morning News Script

Mrs. Gibson:        Good Morning Dundalk Middle School, this is your announcements team bringing you your morning announcements on WDMS news. We’ll be providing announcements every Tuesday and Thursday.

Mrs. Gibson:        Today is Tuesday, April 28, 2020 Please stand for the Pledge of Allegiance and the DMS pledge.

Mrs. Gibson: Please be seated.

Mrs. Gibson: Let’s get a check on the weather. It will be partly cloudy today with a high of 62 degrees. We have a 50% chance of rain tomorrow and can expect a high of 65 degrees.

Mrs. Gibson: Now for the Sports Report - Commissioner Roger Goodell ordered all NFL team facilities closed in March, and then stated that club personnel would need to conduct the draft from their homes. The NFL held their remote draft last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Mrs. Gibson: Remember that all your teachers, including specials, are posting your weekly assignments on Schoology. Each teacher also has a class time for you to log on and meet with them through Google Meets. The schedule for these online meetings is posted on our school webpage. Your teachers are also posting the information on your Schoology course pages. If you are having any trouble, please message your teacher through Schoology.

Mrs. Gibson: Remember to take time for yourself each day. When you start to feel tense, make sure you take some slower, deeper breaths. Extend the exhale like a long, heavy sigh. You can also breathe in for 5 counts and out for 5 counts or whatever rhythm feels natural to you. Your teachers all miss you and hope to see you soon.

Meah: We wish Madison Caballero Lobo and Heidy Mejia Portillo a happy birthday for tomorrow.

Meah: (Words of Wisdom) Good morning, Dundalk Middle School. This is (name of narrator) with a few words of wisdom. Every day, we make many choices. Some choices are very small, like deciding whether to take the chocolate or the vanilla ice cream; and some are very big, like deciding whether to do the right thing or not. Now listen to what American statesman William Jennings Bryan once said: Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. Our destiny is basically our destination in life __ where we are headed. Mr. Bryan is saying that our choices determine our destination . . . they determine the outcome of our lives. If you want to create a successful and happy future, pause for a moment today and ask yourself this: Are my choices taking me in the right direction? With something to think about, this is (name of narrator). Make it a great day . . . or not. The choice is yours.

Ms. Rosencrans: If you go out, remember to practice your social distancing to stay safe. They are even using social distancing in South Africa, but this inquisitive giraffe missed that memo.

Ms. Rosencrans: We’ll see you again on Thursday.
