The Library Media program is aligned to the AASL Standards Framework for Learners.

Mission Statement
The mission of our Library program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information using resources in a variety of formats; to provide opportunities to attain and master information and media literacy skills necessary for effective and ethical use of these resources; and to promote independent reading, digital citizenship, and lifelong learning.

Vision

The library media program adds a dimension of rigor to the curriculum and encourages students to become participatory learners. Through collaboration, the school library media specialist partners with the DMS learning community to maintain a diverse physical and virtual collection of resources that support and enrich learning and literacy to empower students to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, readers, and responsible digital and global citizens.
